Employee Morale Special Days to Celebrate

August is: Help Teens Become Leaders Month

This is a month for companies and organizations to help teenagers develop leadership skills.

Activity ideas:

* Offer to teach leadership classes for local youth groups.

* Sponsor leadership programs at schools and youth groups.

* Develop a mentorship program for teens.

Success Story…

Some teens came to the summer Leadership Camp, wanting to learn the leadership skills that would help them become leaders in their schools – others came because their parents wanted them to learn leadership skills. They didn’t know what to expect.

Some thought it would be a week of boring lectures. Instead, after the week long program of exciting and fun student leadership activities, they left, not only with leadership skills, but also with leadership confidence and a determination to take an active role at their schools.

You can get the easy to use Today’s Teens – Tomorrow’s Leaders Instructor’s manual, and start your own program at work or at home. You can also tell your child’s teachers and youth group leaders to start a program.

Joke of the Week

When a squirrel slipped into my house, I did the logical thing: I panicked and called my father.

“How do you get a squirrel out of a basement?” I shrieked.

Dad advised me to leave a trail of peanut butter and crackers from the basement to the outside. It worked—the squirrel ate his way out of the house.

Unfortunately, he passed another squirrel eating his way in.
