Extra Time Off for Shopping

Contributed by Laurie McCarty

After Thanksgiving, the Christmas shopping rush begins. Giving people a half day off to do their Christmas shopping will make you a hero.

If you can’t give a half-day, an hour or two will still be helpful and appreciated.

Be sure they schedule employees’ time off in advance so you are not caught short handed.

Employees will love it, and you will be rewarded by their cooperation when you need it the most.

Joke of the Week

“My arms have gotten so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee,” a man says.

Someone else in the group of retirees tops him: “My cataracts are so bad, I can’t even see my coffee.”

“What? Speak up. I can’t hear you,” a woman says. “I can’t turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck!”

“My blood pressure pills make me so dizzy I can hardly walk!” says another woman.

“That’s nothing,” says another woman “I forget where I am and where I’m going.”

“Well, count your blessings,” a woman finally says. “Thank God we can all still drive.”
