Mission Accomplished

Trinity’s Health System’s mission is to to heal body, mind and spirit, to improve the health of our communities and to steward the resources entrusted to us. Our mission drives everything we do.
4 Activities We Do to Celebrate Our Mission
1. We have a “Mission Month” every June to celebrate Trinity Health System’s birthday. We have a sundae bar for all three shifts and the Mission Committee serves the sundaes on the night shift. The day and afternoon shifts go to the cafeteria and make their own.
2. We do custom crossword puzzles the last 2 weeks of the month and put them out in the cafeteria with a drop box. At the end of the time period, we pull ten from the West Campus (has 1200 employees) and five for the East Campus (has 350 employees). Then we gave away Trinity umbrellas, canvas bags, and lunch bags.
3. Additionally, our mission committee holds “Change for Charities” for a different charity each month. We put a large jar by the cashier in the cafeteria with a sign on it and patrons/employees drop their change in it, then we send that to non-profit organizations with a letter from our CEO.
4. We also hold a food drive in the fall for the Urban Missions for Thanksgiving and we adopt families in December for Christmas. We do stockings for the military men and women. One year we collected 17 boxes of toiletries for the men and women in the military. We also collected supplies for disasters for the Red Cross one year.
We ensure our mission is carried out in all ways at Trinity to patients and community members.

A. Gerald Ford
Joke of the Week
There were only two cars at the end of my exit ramp, but no one was moving. Clearly the first driver was too timid to blend into the flow of traffic. Opportunity after opportunity passed her by, and cars piled up on the ramp.
Finally, the driver moved, spurred by an exasperated motorist at the end of the line, who yelled, “The sign says yield, not surrender!”
