Trivia Question of the Week

Q. What’s the name of the Dennis the Menace’s dog? (Answer at the end of this newsletter.)

Employee Morale Activity: Chili Cook-off

This week’s morale booster was contributed by Rick Maynard who sent us this delicious idea.

This year I started a chili cook off where employees bring in a crock pot of their chili, and the others pay $5.00 to judge them. Each judge will sample the chili and each will have one vote.

A winner will be declared and a trophy given. Our trophy was a big bowl with some plastic chili peppers glued to it, and a wooden spoon. The trophy is the winner’s for one year then the winner must defend his or her title.

The five dollars pays for pop, taco chips, shredded cheese, chopped onions, bowls, spoons, napkins. Any money left could be split between the cooks, saved for another morale boosting event, or given to a charity.

Joke of the Week

Smile!

I was driving when I saw the flash of a traffic camera. I figured that my picture had been taken for speeding, even though I knew I wasn’t. Just to be sure, I went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly. But again the camera flashed.

Thinking this was pretty funny, I drove past even slower three more times, laughing as the camera snapped away each time while I drove by it at a snail’s pace.

Two weeks later, I got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt.
