Word and Quote of the Week

*** Dream ***

*** You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say, “Why not?”

– George Bernard Shaw

Trivia Question of the Week

Q. What are the 8 vegetables in V8 juice? (Answer at the end of this newsletter.)

Employee Morale Activity:

Ring The Bell

Employees love excitement and recognition. You can accomplish both, and at no cost, by ringing a loud cow bell and making an announcement every time an employee does something special.

However, if your workplace is not conducive to the noise of a loud bell, you can get a quieter bell, or someone can quietly walk around with a poster that announces the achievement.

Someone makes a sale – ring the bell

Someone completes a difficult assignment – ring the bell

Someone meets a quota – ring the bell

The important thing is rewarding the employee with instant public recognition. This will be extremely motivating to others.

Joke of the Week

My friend was working at an amusement park when a couple stopped him. “Excuse me,” said the woman, pointing to a pond. “What is that water made out of?”

Bemused, my friend replied, “Two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen.”

“See?” she said to her boyfriend. “I told you it wasn’t real.”
