Miniature Golf, Anyone?<\/h3>\n

We have a miniature golf event each year at my office. Each department hosts and decorates a miniature golf hole. This is a fun and creative activity that creates a lot of teamwork. Here’s what we did:<\/p>\n

A lot of our departments are all office cubicles, one department decorated their office ‘hole’ as a wild west street, each cubicle was decorated as a storefront, sheriff, hotel, general store etc.<\/p>\n

We have had “Under the Sea”, with fish hanging from the ceiling, “Shrek”, with swamp and castle and many more.<\/p>\n

The offices have teams of 4 golfers play the holes during the day, each with specific tee times. The team golf scores are continually updated on a large screen in the conference room, which is where the final hole is played.<\/p>\n

We have winners for the best decorated hole, winning golf scores and, because each team gets to dress up, we have a winner for best costumes.<\/p>\n

There are two large office complexes and the golf holes are located throughout both offices, so it is a great way to see other areas of our company that we may never visit otherwise.<\/p>\n

Between friendly competition on decorating your department hole, having all the golfing teams walk through your office playing the hole, and seeing all the great decorations and costumes, is a great bonding activity. Best part is the free lunch provided to everyone whether they participated in the game or not.<\/p>\n

The customer ordering a floral arrangement from my shop was giving me very specific guidelines.<\/p>\n

“Nothing fragrant,” she instructed. “Nothing too tall or too wild. And no bright colors, please.<\/p>\n

My house is decorated in beige and cream. Here is a wallpaper sample.” She handed me a plain square of tan-colored paper.<\/p>\n

“Your name?” I asked.<\/p>\n

“Mrs. Bland,” the woman replied.<\/p>\n
