Try This Special Way for Employees to Encourage Each Other<\/h3>\n

Years ago when our training group seemed to be going in opposite directions, our manager handed us an assignment.<\/p>\n

While it was clear that we needed an exercise in teamwork, the assignment was to be completed on an individual basis.<\/p>\n

She handed us a sheet of paper listing everyone’s name with one blank next to each name.<\/p>\n

The directions were simple, think of one quality you admired about each person, and write it next to his or her name.<\/p>\n

The administrator then took what we wrote, and on nice stationary typed a separate list of positive qualities for each employee. She then adorned each with a ribbon.<\/p>\n

I still have mine after all these years.<\/p>\n

As I stood in front of the mirror, carefully arranging my rapidly thinning hair, my four-year-old son, Carey, climbed up on the bathtub next to me and looked me over closely.<\/p>\n

Suddenly he jumped down, raced into the kitchen and said to my wife, “Mommy, Daddy is still growing!” “Still growing?” she asked. “What do you mean, Carey?”<\/p>\n

“Well,” Carey replied, “his head is coming through his hair!”<\/p>\n
